Ozonation treatment processes for the remediation of detergent wastewater: A comprehensive review

Laundry detergent wastewater is a potential renewable resource that can be recycled and reused in order to mitigate water scarcity. The treatment of laundry very challenging because its multicomponent composition, large discharge volumes the environment resulting from increasing usage as global population grows, ineffectiveness conventional technologies. Ozonation one most effective advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) has shown tremendous reclamation wastewater. Complete mineralization contaminants by molecular ozone not economical due high generation cost other limitations such pH dependence, short lifetime ozone, low solubility aqueous solution mass transfer limitations. Strategies modification ozonation including combination with hydrogen peroxide (peroxone process) catalytic have received much attention. effectiveness process further enhanced photocatalytic higher rate pollutants mineralization. This paper reviews recent studies on surfactant containing generated various sources domestic, industrial, commercial or public premises. Lastly, important remarks suggestions for future works are presented.
